Creamy Biltong Pies
Perfectly crispy dough filled with a creamy Biltong centre that just oozes out goodness.
Equipment
- Baking tray
- Frying Pan
- Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 Red onion finely chopped
- 50 ml Butter to fry
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 10 ml Balsamic vinegar
- Cheddar Cheese grated
- 150 g Cream cheese
- Chopped wet Biltong
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 roll store bought puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees
- Fry onions in butter till soft add the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar and fry till caramelized.
- Add the cream cheese and grated cheddar as well as the biltong pieces.
- Roll out the pastry into rings and fill. Make sure the bottom ring is a tiny bit bigger than the top ring.
- Brush with egg and prick 3 holes in the top of the pies
- Bake at 180 till golden brown. (15 minutes)
